This tuesday 11-13 we will be painting at South Causeway Island park in Fort Pierce. Take US1 to Seaway drive going east towards the beach. Its on your left just after you go over the bridge. The Smithsonian has a nice aquarium there, used to be free on Tuesdays. I just looked at their site, looks like it still is.

A poem by Tookie
The Treasure Coast Art Association
The TCCA on Avenue A,
Is open to the public most every day.
Our logos a pirate,
We're a Fort Pierce treasure,
To welcome you is our pleasure!
If you like to sketch, paint or just hang out,
The place to be is HERE, no doubt.
If you're a beginner don't be shy
Come to the studio and give it a try.
Want to learn something new?
Our talented teachers will teach it to you.
Enter your work in our monthly show,
You may win a ribbon, you just never know.
We're the best kept secret on the Treasure Coast,
We're sharing with you, we just like to boast.
Come see us!

Hidden Treasures of Fort Pierce
I thought I would show whats next door to the Treasure Coast Art Association. The first photo shows the outside of famous artist Don Rhodes studio and art boutique, the second has the inside where you can replenish your art supplies without having to drive to Vero or Stuart. The third is Mr. Rhodes' gallery which is filled with some of his wonderful paintings.

Tuesday paintouts from the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast
Hi Everybody!
This tuesday, September 25 and next October 2, we will paint at White City Park which is south of Ft. Pierce. From US1 you take CR712 or Midway Road. Go West on Midway Road till you get to the park on your left. Going west the entrance is just after you go over the bridge on left ... Its a lovely little park, with a windy road that goes to the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. I try to get there around 9:30 and stay till noon or later. I drive a red Jeep Cherokee so you can look for that and find me.
If you don't paint and just want to see pretty parks and artists painting you are welcome of course! Anyone who is new and would like to paint with us welcome!
Happy Painting! Lori

Painting at the TCAA

Treasure Coast Art Association Gallery
We do actually do some painting now and then. Open studios ($4) are a way for you to enjoy the TCAA sunlit space to work in the medium of your choice, sharing knowledge and camaraderie with your fellow artists. Everyone is welcome, beginners or advanced. (see to the left the big long column with the days of the week for times and all)

Here is the gallery from the outside.

Here is Tookie with her cool rooster painting.
This Tookie and Virginia inside the Gallery. I regret to say Virginia has passed away.
We need more teachers at the gallery, if you are interested in giving lessons, contact Joan at 595-9538
